OK! I'll give an example...
I had a blast at my last show of the season doing the jumpers with my goofy pony. Ha ha ha, what a day that was!
He was just as he normally is in the warm up; silly and fast! He jumped really well and was excited to show, despite the unseasonably warm air, adding in the fact that he was as hairy as a sheep...
Anyway, when we got in our first class, he looks at the first two jumps as usual, to question whether or not it really is safe to jump... silly fool. But a few cracks of the whip on his spotted cheeks told him it was do or die (jk! : It ended up a really great round. We got second out of a class of I think 13; not bad for an appaloosa pony gelding who hasn't been out for at least 4 months to show! ;D
In my second class, I forgot where my 3rd fence was in my jumpoff, so I had to make a 20-second circle around to get my bearings and find it... lol! So we ended up getting 4th in that class because everyone else was having trouble, to put it plainly.
....So, I made certain to know where my jumps were in my next class!
The last class, 3'3, was a little - ...interesting... There were black cows trotting around behind the arena, so he did a silly little step before going in the ring, and he took peeks at the first three jumps on course... I will have you know he then had a sore booty (kisses crop)! lol We got through the rest of it, and we were clear until the very last fence! UGH! The disappointment...but, I consider the fact that he truly did outperform any of our previous shows as a whole. No more useless looking! Yay! He's made great strides in his concentration (excluding the concentration on what the evil demon cows might do to him if he were to get too close... :
Here's a video I put together of that show: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRGVfjO0CsU
OK! ALL ENGLISH AND WESTERN RIDERS PLEASE POST AWAY AND SHARE EXPERIENCES! DON'T HOLD BACK ANY DETAILS!!!

Sounds like you had a blast! Well my last show was about two weeks ago but I will try and remember how it went. It was a dressage show by the way. Well it was my second show with the horse I am riding(and now leasing =]) and so I just did Training Level Test 1(Just basic walk/trot/canter, straight lines and circles and such. Pretty basic and easy). Well we got a 57.2% and 2nd place behind a 60%. & people participated in that class so I was proud =]. The warm-up was amazing though. I had no idea he had that much power in him. It truly amazed me. Too bad in the actual ring he didn't do quite as well, but the scary grill and video camera was gonna eat him.(They had a grill making hamburgers and stuff and it was loud.) Anyways my next show is this weekend. Just a schooling show with flat classes. Its always tons of fun and me and my friends just hang out with our horses. Im gonna be doing the following classes: EnglishShowmanship in Hand Colts/Geldings in Hand W/T/C Jr. Equitation W/T/C Jr. Pleasure Bareback Equitation Double Bareback Equitation(if I can convince my friend) Obedience Hunter Hack(Just two 18" fences with five strides inbetween. My friend took her gaited horse in there and got second. It was great.) And thats all for now. Then this little girl might take him western in just walk/trot classes. I don't have any show pictures of him yet but I will be getting tonss Sunday. So be ready Thats all for now. P.S. This is youxgotxmail. I am to lazy to sign in right now.

I've been showing at this little club in sothern CA and This season Hos gon really well but was sort of rocky. First Time going for AllAround Show one- I did my first showmanship class and placed last. But everyone else has lessons and private trainers (I train myself) so that was O.K. then I had a few minutes to tackup and change for Western EQ. I did get one Pro lesson for that because my horse doesnot frame up well for Western. I won that as well as my Pleasure and placed second in Trail and Horsmanship. Then I ate lunch and got ready for english and Missed the gat call for EQ but First time for my horse and I showed english and I Wone my Plesaure. The last of my classes and only english that day. WILL POST MORE
